Bargarh : Vedic International School, Bargarh, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great enthusiasm, spreading the festival’s message of love, care, and protection not only within the campus but also across the community.
The celebration began under the guidance of Shri Anand Agrawal, Chairman of Vedic Group of Institutions, and Smt. Gargi Chatterjee, Principal of Vedic International School, Bargarh. Teachers, staff, and students joined hands to make the event memorable.
Students performed cultural programmes, recited poems, and delivered speeches highlighting the importance of Raksha Bandhan as a symbol of protection and unity. The unique highlight was the school’s initiative to extend the spirit of the festival beyond human bonds.
Students tied Rakhis to trees, symbolising “Protection of Nature as Our Extended Family.” They visited the District Police Station to tie Rakhis to police personnel, appreciating their role in safeguarding society. They honoured advocates at the District Bar Association and doctors at the District Hospital, acknowledging their tireless service.
In a gesture of gratitude, students tied Rakhis to postal employees at the District Post Office for their dedication in connecting people. In a compassionate outreach, they distributed sanitary pads at the School for Differently Abled, Bargarh, promoting health awareness and dignity.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Shri Anand Agrawal lauded the students’ creativity and social responsibility, saying, “Raksha Bandhan is not just about threads; it is about bonds of mutual care and respect that go beyond family.” Principal Smt. Gargi Chatterjee appreciated the collaborative efforts of teachers and students in turning the festival into a meaningful community engagement.
The day concluded with sweets distribution and a promise by everyone present to continue protecting nature, respecting social guardians, and fostering harmony in society.
